Critical chain is a successfully applied to the TOC project management approach to the project schedule, after the critical path method, following a major discovery in the field of project management. However, the time since the critical chain method appears not long, even if there are many success stories and construction theory, but in practice, it is still not as good as critical path method so mature, especially in the identification of key chain, set up the buffer, the buffer management of three parts, there is a big controversy, this paper three questions, made some discussion and study. On the identification of key chains, we selected a heuristic algorithm is improved in consideration of the actual situation of the project and more items that occur conflict, optimize and simplify the algorithm to resolve the resource conflict as the goal of the project resources by sequence method dual protection, the establishment of a process model to identify key chain and take resource scheduling method to solve, and further verified by numerical examples. After determining the critical chain project, this article then set the buffer was studied, after considering the project activities because of the different location, the impact on project duration is also different factors, the paper adopted a new buffer algorithm, key activities and non-critical activities is a clear distinction, so that the buffer is more realistic, and practical case to be verified. This article has some theoretical and practical significance, identify key chain for in-depth research to improve the algorithm to make it more realistic for the situation in the buffer zone set also proposed a new approach to such critical buffer conservation activities more meaningful, and finally through a study of cases of automobile production, proved the feasibility of this article.
