In recent years, the pig-breeding industry has gained fast development and become an important branch of animal husbandry in China. But the pig-breeding industry in each place differ in scale, and the development scale of grain industry served as the basis of pig-breeding industry can't match that of pig-breeding industry in each place, followed by the phenomenon that some provinces with large pig breeding scale transport plenty of grain resources from other provinces and international market, while the scale of pig-breeding industry in other provinces abundant with rich grain resources is relatively small compared with their grain resources, so the collaborative advantage of grain industry and pig-breeding industry regarding feed resource supply and pig manure treatment can't be given full play to. Moreover, the low efficiency and high cost of grain circulation system further intensified the condition of domestic grain shortage, and rely too heavily on grain export poses threat to national grain security.Under the circumstance of more and more grain consumption and increasingly severe domestic feed grain condition, confronted with the current state of coordinated development between grain industry and pig-breeding industry, based on Coordinated Development Theory, Comparative Advantage Theory and Agricultural Regionalization Theory, the descriptive statistical analysis, Geo-spatial analysis, entropy weight method and Grey Relationship Analysis are utilized to analyze the coordinated development degree of feed grain industry and pig-breeding industry, and the spatial-temporal change of coordinated development degree in 31 provinces in 2000,2005,2010 and 2013 are analyzed. Then the 31 provinces are divided into four categories by cluster analysis and countermeasures are suggested according to the problems. Among the key findings are as follows:(1)In terms of the coordinated development between grain industry and pig-breeding industry, traditional massive pig-breeding provinces, such as Sichuan, Hunan, Henan and Shandong, have shown very good coordination development trend between feed grain production and pig breeding, these provinces are abundant with feed grain and the two industries have reached a positive competition and effective coordination state, and pig breeding industry has obvious advantage; However, some provinces arc confronted with water scarcity, the feed grain industry and pig breeding industry meet with how to allocate the limited water resources.(2) Regions that show relatively good coordination development trend are basically medium-size pig breeding regions. These regions are possessed with some land resources, feed grain resources and relatively rich water resources, so the grain industry and pig-breeding industry have reached a relatively effective cooperation state. Confronted with waste from pig breeding, pig breeding industry isn't possessed with obvious advantage and development potential.(3)Most western regions show inconsistent trend, due to the fact that the planting structure doesn't match the feed ingredients on account of geographical location and climate condition, and the pig breeding scale has maintained a relatively low level for customs and culture and eating habits, so the pig breeding industry hasn't achieved effective development.(4) Benefit from rich land resources, feed grain resources and water resources, Northeast China Region has gradually shown effective natural resources advantage, it can transfer its own grain into feed at low cost and the pig breeding waste can be absorbed by large land, achieving the reuse and recycling of wastes at low cost. Besides, these regions are abundant with water resources, so it can provide water support for pig breeding industry and feed grain industry. As a result, its pig breeding industry and feed grain industry has reached effective cooperation and coordination and show great development potential in terms of pig breeding industry.(5)The pig breeding industry and feed grain industry has gradually decreased its development scale as a consequence of industrial structure adjustment, opportunity cost, land resources and policies restriction in Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai, and these regions has little development potential in terms pig breeding.Confronted with the current situation of coordinated development of grain industry and pig-breeding industry, countermeasures and advice are proposed as follows: (1)Optimize and adjust planting structure and promote grain crops to transfer to feed crops. (2)Strengthen policy support and develop strategic pig breeding base. (3)Designate pig forbidden region and transfer to non-overload regions. (4)Encourage large pig breeding farm to be equipped with planting land to promote the integration of planting and breeding.
