The Xinhua County Tea Industry Development Research

With a history of more than 1100 years, the tea industry in Xinhua County has a rapid de velopment in recent years and has become the pillar industry of rural economy in Xinhua Cou nty. It plays a great role in increasing the income of the peasants, adjusting the agricultural ind ustry structure and protecting the environment. The thesis has investigated the general inform ation of the development of tea industry by field investigation and deep interview. Based on a nalyzing the present situation and problem of tea industry in Xinhua County, the thesis also ex plores the development prospects and basic ideas of the tea industry in Xinhua County, and pu ts forward suggestions for solving the problems.The tea industry is an important part of the characteristic agriculture in Xinhua County. Th e current tea area of Xinhua County is 56 thousand mu, ranking No.1 in Loudi City. The tea b ases locate in 12 towns. There are 1 provincial leading enterprise and 3 city leading enterpris es. The anual tea output is 3500 ton with a output value of 350 million yuan.By SWOT analysis, the thesis summarized that the tea industry in Xinhua has advantage s of good natural ecological condition, rich tourist resources, constant improvement of tea qua lity and policy support. This industry meets the chances of wide tea market, the wide use of in tensive processing tea product in medical industry and improved transportation. At the same ti me, there exists a series of problems: the disadvantages such as the large proportion of old te a garden, the less influence of leading enterprises, backward production technology and equip ment, low industrial benefit, poor marketing, low market share, lack of momey, insufficient p olicy support, unsound social service system and the threats of heavy green trade barrier, furio us competition of trade market and the expanding of surrounding tea market.The tea industry in Xinhua has a good development prospect. The enterprises should seiz e the chances to develop the industry and the goverment should adapt to the times and scientif ically plan the development of tea industry. Therefore, the study draws a conclusion. Firstly, t he tea industry in Xinhua County should cultivate high quality tea scientifucally and plan the i ndustry bases properly. Secondly the government shold help the leading enterprises greatly,. i mprove the enterprise grouping, and strengthen the policy and capital support. Thirdly, the ind ustry should promote enterprise production capacity, build brand cluster and expand the mark eting channels. Lastly, the industry should explore the tea potential, realize the diversity of te a industry and increase the sustainable development ability of tea industry in Xinhua County.
