| As an emerging industry, science popularization industry has a certain degree of development in both practical and theoretical researches in recent years. Science popularization industry has a late beginning, so that scholars are still in basic theoretical research stage, slightly shortage in the quantitative study.On the basis of summarizing the existing research, this thesis is aimed to evaluate the progress of China’s science popularization industry in the method of comprehensive evaluation.Based on the basis of the review of domestic and foreign research status, the relevant theories of industrial development and comprehensive evaluation are introduced at first.Secondly, referred to China Statistical Yearbook on culture and related industries, a statistics index system for science popularization industry is constructed in four aspects, namely the overall situation of the industry, business activities, financial situation and innovative ability, which provides a basis to design an index system of following-up evaluation.Further, the index system is built up to evaluate the development of science popularization industry in China, which is consisted of scale, resources, growth capacity, and development potential of a industry. Delphi and statistical method are employed to improve the index system. Then, the analytic hierarchy process is applied to weight the indicies, and the fuzzy comprehensive method to is employed to evaluate the development status of science popularization industry in China from 2012 to 2014.Finally, the evaluation results are analyzed, which implies four conclusions:science popularization is still a small industry in scale; the utilization degree of resources is relatively low; the industry growth is not stable; and the industrial development potential is large. Some related policy suggestions are proposed that it is necessary to formulate taxation and other preferential policies, and build up more science popularization industry parks to promote the development of science popularization industry. |
