| The national power will be strong if the agriculture revitalizes; the whole country will be stable if the rural areas are stable; the whole country’s destiny will be prosperous if farmers are rich. The 18 th report of the party points out that agriculture is the important area to expand structural adjustment of domestic demand, and also the industry of making country peaceful and steadying popular feelings. In order to ensure national food security and promote the farmers’ income as the core and promote agricultural modernization by sticking to solve “three rural” issues on all priority. Agricultural modernization can not be separated from farmers with scientific literacy, the level of farmer’s scientific literacy plays a direct role to the development of economy, society, and agricultural modernization. To solve the "three rural" issues fundamentally, solid science and technology culture is the foundation, requires us to improve the popularizing rate of science and technology in rural areas, to improve the scientific and technological content of agricultural production and enhance the farmers ’ scientific literacy quality, in order to fundamentallyimprove agricultural productionconditions,i mprove agricultural efficiency and increase farmers ’ income.Divided into six chapters in total to discuss of this paper, investigating and analyzing the current situation of farmers’ Scientific Literacy in new construction area in the aspect of empirical research, learn from the advanced experience of rural scientific knowledge popularization in developed countries to explore effective approaches to improve farmers’ scientific literacy achievement, perfect the research on farmers’ scientific literacy problem theoretically and provide reference for the government to right making policies of improving farmers’ scientific literacy from practice. The first chapter is mainly divided into two parts, the first part describes the research background, significance, research thinking and method to enhance farmers’ scientific literacy; the second chapter is the concept and definition, lists the typical scientific literacy concept and definition, definition of farmer and definition of popular science at home and abroad; the third chapter is divided into two parts, the first part takes the Xinjian areas in Nanchang city for example,making a briefly description to the basic situation of the respondents. The second part, making a comprehensive analysis on farmers’ scientific literacy from farmers’ science and technology knowledge judgment, scientific terminology description, scientific views judgment, the relationship between science and society, access to scientific knowledge these aspects. The fourth chapter is the reference of the advanced experience of improving farmers’ scientific literacy in foreign country and domestic district, reference the advanced experience of improving farmers’ scientific literacy of the United States, Britain, Japan, Korea, India and so on. The fifth chapter, put forward an effective way of improving farmers’ scientific literacy and make an corresponding conclusion on the basis of investigation and study and reference of foreign experience. |
