Research On Impact Of Standardized Process To Project Success

The arrival of economic times improves the integration of world economy. In order to adapt to the constantly changing globalized market and promote the competitiveness of organizations, project management is gradually growing into a popular mode for organization management. However, how the project be effectively managed and how the expected project target be achieved still remain problems that plaguing many enterprises and organizations. According to statistics, only 10.8% of projects worldwide can win success, which not only wastes vast resources of enterprises, but also leads enterprises to lose many market-occupying opportunities. Apart from some technical problems, main reasons for the above situation are the unreasonable project management, shortage of standards of process, management goal and management approaches, and the ignorance of the management of knowleage. The theoretical research related to standardized project management prove that the standardization of project management is regular project management and an efficient way to improve performance. Also, the experiences of how the international enterprises achieved success show that the implementation of project management standardization can reduce uncertainty in the process so that the project target can be guaranteed to be realized.Based on deep comprehension of project management theory, this paper conducted systematic research for the project management process and delineated project management process standardization on the basis of standardization theory and organization and collaboration theory. In accordance with previous research theory and achievement, this theory model is proposed, with process standardization as independent variable, project success dependent variable, and knowledge integration metavariable. To present effective and precise measurement to the variables, this study conducted factor analysis of SPSS 19.0 and AMOS 21.0 based on former researches home and abroad, and came up with the measurement scale of project management process standardization. In the part of Hypothesis and Inspection, statistical analysis of Smart PLS is conducted for the 216 valid questionnaires to explore the functional mechanism of process standardization for the project success.The results are listed as below:process standardization poses positive influences on project success and knowledge integration; knowledge integration exerts positive influences on project success; knowledge integration serves as intermediary in the process standardization and project success. These findings significantly complemented the theory of process standardization, and raised the measurement criteria for project management process standard, which offer reference and guidance for enhancing the standardization management for the project team.
