Since the Reform and Opening-up policy, our country urbanization continuously upgrade, gap wides increasingly between urban and rural areas.So in order to the early realize the integration of urban and rural areas,and ensure the sustainable development of economy,the first task is to focuses on the rational layout rural residential construction.In terms of the current development of China's rural settlements, generally existing some problems like lacking reasonable planning control, development goals blindly and so on during the process of new rural construction, which leads to a series of secondary problem such as imbalance of the village construction area, scattered layout, low efficiency of land use,and imperfection of infrastructure and public service facilities construction. In addition, because of part city exceedingly emphasis on the speed of economic development, resulting in persistently expansion and acceleration of urban and rural construction land area, to the surrounding farmland, pressure is more and more big, emergencing the shortage of cultivated land and urban and rural construction land demand between contradiction, therefore, formulating scientific and reasonable rural residential layout optimization scheme,and promoting theintensive development of the rural residential land, for resolving conflicts, shortage of construction land has important practical significance to enhance the efficiency of land use and to accelerate the new rural construction process.This paper takes the typical grain producing areas to the North- Wuchang City as an example, considering the distribution characteristics of the agricultural economy, selecting the 12 northern towns as the research object,and constructing rural residential land suitability evaluation index system from the natural, economic and social and ecological three aspects, combined with the characteristics of area quantifying index factor, based on the suitability evaluation classification and difference of regional operation mode, making rural residential layout optimization scheme, provides a theoretical basis for the development of new countryside construction. The conclusion is as follows:(1)The study that evaluation of multi-index comprehensive suitability for rural settlements from the natural, social economy and ecological three aspects, is divided into 5 levels, named the highest suitable, high suitable,middle suitable, low suitable and unsuitable,.The results showed that the rural residential land in the area has not most high suitable grade, but mainly by suitable to high level. The relative area ratio of the highest suitable grade is 64.13%, the rural residential area ratio of the middle suitable grade is 30.85%, and rural residential land area ratio of low suitable and unsuitable grade is 3.28% and 1.74%separately.That indicates that the region is still part of area need to be remedied partly.(2)In layout optimization, based on the results of the rural residental land suitability evaluation in the northern area of Wuchang city, the residents of the area is divided into four types : centeral and residential villages, reserved and developed villages, removal and combined villages, and ecological migration villages. Among them, the centeral and residential villages take urbanization development pattern, formed centralized layout of the overall toward to the county and Township resident development; reserved and developed villages adopt the control mode of village local transformation, improving the utilization of the land; removal and combined villages used to take the development mode of the removal of the village to the centeral village, effectively increasing the area of arable land, and promoting convenience of centralized and unified management; ecological migration villages by guiding migration of the population,make village naturally decline, improving farmland and woodland area ratio, and further improving the regional ecological environment.(3)In allusion to schemes for adjusting the layout of rural residential area, residents of ecological migration type altogether have 228 patches, the area of 164.93 hm2, mainly distributed in Xinglong Xiang,Yingchengzi Xiang Min Le Xiang and other regions. That should limit its development, and guide the village population relocation; villages of removal and combined type total have 93 patches, the area of 310.55 hm2, mainly distributed in Eightjiazi Xiang,Chang Bao Xiang,Niujiazhen and other regions. That should be merged into the relatively the township of good condition; there are a total of 500 plaques for type of internal modification, mainly distributed in Xinglong Xiang Bajiazi Xiang,Weiguo Xiang and other regions. The series of rural settlements in this area can be partly modificated; scale of reserved and developed villages is biggest, whose area is accounted for 64.13% of the total area of rural residents, evenly distributed in the 69 administrative villages.The research can provide for the relevant government departments in the region the reference about implementing rural residential renovation and zoning, and providing the scientific guidance and suggestions for the rural residential location.
