With the rapid development of target stealth, integration electronic jamming, low altitude penetration, and anti-radiation technologies, the abilities against the four mentioned technologies for military radars are increasingly required. Because of the inherent geometry configuration, the bistatic radar systems, which have"four-anti"abilities, are valued again and will play an increasingly important role in the radar community. Consequently, how to jam bistatic radar system is a hot topic in the ECM field but there exists little literature to cover this. Based on this background and utilizing the basic geometry configuration of the bistatic radar, the interference effect of bistatic radar is analysed and evaluation indexes are put forward by combining both the theoretical analysis and the simulation certifications.Firstly, some typical jamming methods against bistatic radar system are introduced, such as noise jamming, deception jamming, and distributed jamming etc. Then the interference effects are analyzed with simulations. Based on the jamming principle, the interference model is established, then the simulation is implemented and the the results are analyzed in detail. The results show that it is better to jam bistatic radar system by main-lobe jamming instead of side-lobe jamming. In addition, using distributed jamming against bistatic radar system will achieve apparent effect than side-lobe jamming.Secondly, the interferent effect of intermittent sampling repeater jamming (ISRJ) against bistatic radar systems is analyzed. Based on time-sharing, the intermittent sampling repeater jamming (ISJR) is a new coherent transveiver interence method. it provides a new way to jam coherent bistatic radar system. Firstly, the ISJR mathematical model against bistatic LFM radar system is established; Secondly, the characreristics of interference echo signal is analyzed by utilizing the model; Thirdly, combined with the bistatic radar range resolution and the effective interference power requirements ,the result is concluded that the ISJR against bistatic radar system is effective and the final simulation proves it.Finally, Based on the basic principles and from the perspective of the radar side, this paper combines correlative theoretical analysis and simulations and puts forward some evaluation indexes, such as, bistatic radar equivalent self-defense range, interference suppression ratio, measurement error, and geometric dilution of precision positioning etc. The result shows that, these indexes are reasonable and it is effective to assess the interference effect of bistatic radar systems before and after jamming.
