With the continuous develop ment of semiconductor technology and integrated circuit design technology,the complexity of the chip is becoming higher and higher.In order to manage these large and complex chips,SOC(System On C hip)design technology based on IP(Intellectual Property)reuse has emerged.SOC,with its rich resources,low cost,low power consumption,and numerous support vendors,has gained more and more applications in embedded systems that require complex control and communication functions.Due to its special hardware structure,DSP(Digital Signal Processor)has a number of hardware multipliers and accumulator units dedicated to complex calculations,making the DSP computational speed extremely fast.In addit ion,the harvard bus architecture and pipeline technology make the DSP highly parallel processing.ability.The speed and data processing capacity of SOC is general,but the peripheral interface of SOC is relatively rich,standardized and versatile,the advantages of SOC are mainly reflected in the control aspects.DSP is mainly used for data calculation,such as encryption and decryption,modulation and demodulation,etc.The advantages of DSP are strong data processing power and high running speed.The DSP program download interface designed in this paper is based on MC-SOC(Module Control-System O n C hip),and uses a common SPI interface to configure and software control to download the DSP program.the whole system is a combination of SOC is good at control and the characteristics of DSP calculating,give full p lay to the advantages of hardware,in addition,DSP program download interface is usually used as a general SPI(Serial Peripheral Interface),need to download the DSP program,the SPI interface is configured as DSP program download interface,make full use of the hardware resources.This article carefully analyzes and studies the AMBA(Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture)protocol and the SPI protocol,and completes the top-level port definition and module partitioning of the SPI interface according to the MC-SOC architecture features and functions.Then,based on the module division of SPI interface,this article analyzes and discusses the function and design idea of each sub-module.This paper builds a SPI interface simulation platform based on VCS simulation software,and simulates the SPI interface.The simulation results are consistent with expectations.This paper also uses Design Compiler to complete the logic synthesis of SPI interface based on GSMC 0.13 um technology,and then use the logic synthesis production of the netlist file and timing file to complete the post-simulatiom of the SPI interface.The post-simulation function is correct.Finally,this paper studies the process and characteristics of TMS320C66 x DSP SPI loading mode,and then based on the design and development of SPI interface through hardware configuration and software control to achieve DSP program download and successfully verified on Xilinx K7 FPGA prototype verification board,and finally this SOC is based on GSMC 0.13 um eFlash process completes the tapeout.
