As an important spectrum resource,millimeter-waves play a non-negligible role in weaponry and civilian use.The millimeter-wave frequency band covers several important atmospheric windows.Due to the high electromagnetic transmittance at the atmospheric window,people have conducted more detailed research and application of these frequencies.This project is based on the application requirements,developed a system for measuring electromagnetic wave transmission and reflection characteristics at a specific frequency.The transmission characteristic test is to measure the attenuation characteristic of the object to be measured.The reflection characteristic test mainly measures the echo parameters of the object to be measured,and can further obtain the radar cross-sectional area(RCS)performance of the object to be measured.The test system contains two frequencies of Ka-band and W-band.This article focuses on W-band test system.In this paper,the principle of the system is rationally designed by analyzing the system indicators,and the indicators are assigned to each sub-module.For the important components of the system,the design and production of the program are carried out.After debugging,each module meets the requirements of the index and the final combination completes the system.After testing,the transmitter output frequency of the three millimeter-wave test system is 93.6 GHz,and the internal and external field emission power are all 15 dBm,and the output phase noise is-88.33 d Bc/Hz@10 kHz.The gain of receiver millimeter front-end is 23 dB,noise figure 5.1d B.The IF signal conditioner has a dynamic range of 54 dB,a detection slope of 72mV/dB,and a linear detection range of 31 d B.The system meets the design requirements and successfully delivers the user.
