With the large-scale commercialization of LTE mobile communication technology,voice calls,video conferencing,online broadcast,file download and other multimedia services have mushroomed.LTE system uses an all-IP network,compared with the previous communication system,it has a higher data transfer rate,but at the same time,people's demand on the wireless transmission more and more difficult to be met,in some load Smaller real-time services,the overhead is very large,so the use of a suitable header compression algorithm for IP header compression is particularly important.The Robust Header Compression(ROHC)module is located at the packet data convergence protocol(PDCP)sublayer at the data link layer.It can perform header compression for the IP data stream transmitted over the radio link,which can effectively improve the system throughput and save wireless bandwidth resources.In order to further improve the efficiency of header compression,this algorithm has been improved on the basis of ROHC compression coding algorithm,and its simulation test is carried out based on OAI software platform.OAI is a real-time software radio platform developed by EURECOM in Europe in 2013 to explore future communications technology.Since the research of OAI is still in the development stage,the function of each sublayer has yet to be improved.In this paper,the PDCP sublayer on OAI platform is studied,such as the PDCP layer data transmission process is imperfect and the header compression module is missing.The design and implementation of the data transmission process and header compression module is proved to be feasible by the performance analysis of test,which is the foundation of testing the header compression algorithm.Finally,based on the addition of the compression module in OAI,four commonly header compression algorithms used PDCP layer are introduced.In order to take into account the high efficiency and robustness of ROHC,an improved window based Least Significant Bits(WLSB)algorithm is proposed in ROHC unidirectional mode.This algorithm adds two new states,which can reduce the length of header compression.After testing the WLSB improved algorithm,it proves that the algorithm can guarantee the robustness at the same time,effectively improve the header compression efficiency,thus saving the wireless bandwidth resources.
