Bucket conveyor is suitable for conveying loose materials.It is widely used in metallurgy,chemical,grain storage and transportation and other industries.In order to avoid material leakage,the edges of adjacent buckets of the conveyor are overlapped in turn.When the conveyor is running,it is necessary to ensure that adjacent buckets overlap properly.Otherwise,adjacent buckets will collide and squeeze with each other,causing the buckets to be damaged.To design a system for automatically monitoring conveyor buckets overlapping helps monitor the condition of the overlapping of buckets in real time and prolong the service life of the buckets.Based on line structured light detection technology,a monitoring system for conveyor buckets overlapping is designed.The features of conveyor buckets overlapping is analyzed in this thesis.Aiming at the difficulty of the inconspicuous and susceptible image features,a detection scheme using high brightness line structured light to highlight the image features is proposed.A processing algorithm is designed to determine the relative high-low relation of light stripes according to cluster center coordinates of light stripe center points.The monitoring system designed in this thesis has the advantages of simple structure and stable operation.The main work of this thesis includes:1.According to the characteristics of the overlapping problem of conveyor buckets,the overall scheme of the monitoring system for conveyor bucket overlapping based on line structured light is designed.Line structured light is used to highlight image features in the scheme which has good stability.2.A hardware scheme of the monitoring system was designed.Based on the analysis of the actual scene,appropriate models of main hardware devices of the monitoring system were selected,including industrial camera,lens,line structured light laser and industrial computer.The connection circuits and installation plan of the devices were also designed.3.The software of the monitoring system was designed.The structure of the software and the function of each module were introduced.And then focus was placed on the processing algorithm of the software,including image denoising,image binarization,mathematical morphology processing,line structured light stripe center extraction and determination of relative high-low relation of light stripes.The software was developed based on.NET Framework and OpenCV.4.Based on the design of this thesis,a complete set of the monitoring system was assembled.Installed the monitoring system on the conveyor and accomplished the commissioning,the test results demonstrate the effectiveness of the monitoring system.
