The Design Of Video Overlay System Based On FPGA

Video overly technology is an important branch of the video image processing.In the factory video surveillance system,not only we need monitor one or more important positions,but also the real-time display of the status of the target is required.We also need to display and check the data from all kinds of real-time monitoring facilities at the same time.Therefore,the video overlay technology is required.This paper introduced the FPGA-based video overlapping system from the aspects of hardware design and FPGA logic design.The system supported 2 channels of input videos,including one channel VGA input video,and one channel PAL input video,and can make the PAL video in any zoom ratio to overlay with VGA video,and display with the DVI interface.In this paper,we use the FPGA platform to verify and implement the bilinear interpolation algorithm,DDR II storage technology and video overlay technology.The results show that the system can achieve good effect of video overlay,and it can meet the requirement of Engineering application.
