Optical fiber sensors have important and extensive applications in industrial production,medical treatment,energy,transportation,security,and environmental protection.However,optical fiber sensors have some disadvantages on the market currently,such as low sensitivity,complicated production,inflexible and inconvenient to use.Therefore,it is of great significance to develop a kind of fiber sensor with simple structure,flexible use and high sensitivity.Starting from the research of new optical fiber sensing devices,firstly,the current situation and development trend of optical fiber sensors is studied and analyzed.Based on this,the main research objects of this paper are proposed,namely S-type optical fiber and side-polished fiber,according to the literature,the theory of these two newly developed optical fiber sensing devices are discussed and analyzed in detail.Secondly,the technology of S-type fiber and side polished fiber is studied.The former is made by using an optical fiber fusion splicer to displace the common single-mode fiber(SMF-128?m)by dislocation welding,the latter is produced by shift-casting using a wheel-type optical fiber polishing machine.The refractive index and temperature characteristics of S-type optical fiber are tested and analyzed.The experimental results show that the refractive index sensitivity reach about-1242.9 nm/RIU.Later,on the basis of side polished,a preparation method of the double-side polishing fiber is proposed.Finally,the program of the spectrometer is developed and implemented based on LabVIEW.In order to make real time,accurate and effective export and processing of spectral data,the graphical programming language of LabVIEW is used to design the control program of Japan's Advantest Q8344 A spectrometer,and a set of spectrum automatic test system is formed with hardware.The system not only has a high degree of test automation,a wide measurement range,and has a strong data processing function,but also can change the measurement scheme according to the different needs of the test object.Combined with the light source of C+L-band,spectral images in the wavelength range of 1520-1610 nm are analyzed to verify the feasibility of the program.The experimental results show that the system provides a new way for the experimental operation of the spectrum analyzer.The innovation of this paper is to reconstruct the S-type fiber structure,using the single-end detection mode,to make a reflective S-type optical fiber probe for plug-in detection.This structure is not easy to bend and is more flexible and convenient to use,based on the side-polished fiber,double-side polishing is realized.
