2?m solid-state laser have been extensively studied due to its high conversion efficiency,compact structure and eye-safe output wavelength.At the same time,solid-state Raman laser based on stimulated Raman scattering?SRS?effect is a potential method to extend laser spectral coverage.In this thesis,2?m laser is utilized as fundamental light,Raman laser output based on SRS is obtained.In this thesis,laser diode end-pumped Tm:YAP laser is investigated.Tm:YAP crystal used as laser gain medium is end-pumped by a laser diode,continuous wave 1.94?m laser output is obtained.By inserting an actively Q-switched crystal in the resonant cavity,the pulse laser which has a higher peak power was obtained.By optimizing the parameters of the resonant cavity,the high quality pulse laser is obtained to provide the fundamental light source for Raman laser.Then,laser diode end-pumped Tm:YAP/BaWO4 Raman laser is investigated.BaWO4crystal is used as Raman gain medium,an intracavity configuration is used to generate fundamental light with higher power density in cavity,Raman laser output is obtained.By optimizing the parameters of the laser system,the conversion efficiency and output stability of Raman laser is improved.With an incident diode power of 17.5W and a pulse repetition rate of 1kHz,the maximum output powers of 880mW and 306mW for the fundamental laser at 1.94?m and the first Stokes laser at 2.36?m are obtained,respectively.The pulse width and pulse energy of the first Stokes laser are 14.1ns and 0.31mJ,respectively.The Raman gain coefficient of the BaWO4 crystal is estimated to be 1.1cm/GW at 1.94?m for the first time.
