As the number of users and the scale of applications continue to expand, current network has been challenged by many aspects like mobility, security, scalability and so on.The current network is becoming increasingly difficult to meet business extensions and functional iterations. Therefore, researchers proposed mechanism of multipath transmission, which can improve the utilization of network and the efficiency of network services. The Concurrent Multipath Transfer Protocol(CMT-SCTP),which is using the multi-homing feature of SCTP,provides a mature solution for multipath transmission. The researchers have carried out a variety of research around CMT-SCTP,of which more and more attention has been paid to multipath throughput modeling. However, the existing researches on multipath modeling often set the premise that the paths are independent of each other or performance parameters of all paths are uniform, the interaction between paths in multipath transmission system is not fully taken into account.Based on the traditional TCP throughput modeling method and combined with the transmission characteristics of SCTP protocol and CMT-SCTP protocol, this paper puts forward the Model of Contention Algorithm based on path contention factor, then the model verification is completed through the simulation platform. The main work of this article is as follows:First,in accordance with the Slow Start Stage,Congestion Avoidance Stage and Timeout Retransmission Stage, this paper extends the traditional single path TCP transmission model into SCTP transmission system.By carring out throughput modeling work in each stage respectively, this paper finally obtained the SCTP throughput model under the congestion window constrained condition.Second,on the basis of full consideration of the interrelation among paths, the concept of path contention factor is put forward to represent the transmission capacity of each path, therefore the multipath Contention Algorithm Model is obtained based on the deduced path contention factor calculation method.Third, the NS2 simulation platform is used to carry out the experimental verification of the models mentioned in this paper. The verification results demonstrate that the proposed model is able to accurately predict throughput over a wider range of conditions. At the end of this paper, the main contents of the paper are summarized and analyzed, and further work is planned and prospected.
