To adapt to the increasingly high development demand for network technology,SCTP(Stream Control Transmission Protocol)was formulated and put forward by the IETFSignaling Transport(SIGTRAN)working group.Due to the various innovative features ofits own,SCTP has become a universal protocol for transport layer.SCTP couldsimultaneously act on multiple interfaces,but only one interface is allowed to transmittingdata in default case,so SCTP can not play its advantages of multi-homing.The appearanceof Concurrent Multi-path Transmission(CMT for short),a multi-path parallel transmissionprotocol for SCTP,solved this problem.The propose of CMT not only highly increased thethroughput for end-to-end,but also greatly improved the utilization of network resources.Based on the CMT,this paper analyzed the throughput computing model forconcurrent multi-path transfer. First of all, this paper introduces the developmentbackground and research status for SCTP,and then,explains the basic features,congestion control mechanism and key technique of CMT for SCTP.Following,itillustrates the computing model for SCTP throughput. This computing model realized thecomputing for throughput in the event of two path parallel transport,and the networkperformance parameters of these two path were identical,including lossrate,widthband,delay,and so on.However,in heterogeneous network environments,due to employingdiffirent access technology,the performace of every transmission path is diverse,so thiscomputing model could not efficiently meet the need of concurrent multi-path transmissionin heterogeneous network.Hence,this paper improved the computing model and putforward a throughput computing model for concurrent multi-path transmission withdiffirent path parameters,which could be appled to heterogeneous network.Finally,in thecase of different network parameters,by using the network simulation system of NS2,thepaper carried out simulation and proving for the improved computing model,and verifiedits effectiveness through the comparison results of improved model and correspondingsimulation....
