Mobile broadband,HD video,internet of things,cloud computing and big data,such as large traffic business on the backbone of the bandwidth needs to grow at an annual rate of 30%~50%.These require high rate and large capacity network to meet the needs of the business.At the same time,the construction of backbone network has been used in China for nearly 20 years in the early ninety's of last century.Need to build a new backbone network to meet the needs of modern information society.In addition,maritime power strategy requires our country to continuously strengthen the construction of offshore and deep-sea fiber optical communication systems.All of these put forward higher requirements for the transmission performance of the optical fiber.In particular,100G/s and 400G/s high-speed optical transmission network,will require less loss of optical fiber to meet the requirements of the system for higher OSNR.This study is on the basis of high speed communication system of fiber materials new technology demand,on the basis of in-depth analysis of the effects of fiber loss mechanism proposed path of the key technology of low loss optical fiber,through independent innovation,to explore new technology,develop high performance low loss single-mode fiber,to meet the needs of high-speed communication system.To sum up,mainly from the following several aspects work.1)Through the theoretical analysis of the composition of fiber loss,the design of low loss optical fiber profile structure,and realize the preform from technics production.Low loss fiber profile design requires not only meet the requirements of total reflection,also need to meet the core layer and cladding layer between the performance(including viscosity and thermal expansion coefficient,etc.)matching,to achieve a low loss optical fiber preform production.2)According to the structure condition of the current fiber drawing equipment and the requirement of the low loss optical fiber production process,a set of optical fiber drawing annealing system which can meet the requirements of the production is designed.3)In the case of high temperature fiber drawing,the method of eliminating the internal defects of the fiber glass structure has been developed,and a set of reasonable optical fiber drawing annealing process has been worked out,and the low loss optical fiber drawing furance production has been realized.4)The relationship between the system research of low loss properties of a single-mode fiber and process parameters by performance of low loss optical fiber and conventional fiber,low loss fiber glass structure is discussed and defects.Finally,through the drawing in the annealing technology,the fiber loss at 1310 nm window reduces the 0.01 d B/km,at 1550 nm window reduces the 0.006 d B/km,achieves the desired goal,conform to the standards of low loss optical fiber.
