| Multi-beam antenna has broad applications in the field of satellite communications, radar guidance and electronic warfare and many other fields. This paper presents a multi-beam transmitting and receiving integrated lens antenna operating in Ka-band,which can be used to achieve wide beam emission and narrow beam reception. This antenna can realize multi-beam scanning in a target area within a certain angle.Specific research work includes:(1)Lens and Feed Design:The lens type and the lens focal length ratio were studied and determined.According to the requirements of the lens on the miniaturization of the feed and the beam irradiation,Two forms of feed which are the microstrip antenna with dielectric-loaded and dielectric rod antenna suitable for integrated lens antenna applications were proposed.(2)Design of Multi-Beam Receiving Antenna:The radiation performance of the lens antenna in the case of feed off-axis and focus is studied.Twelve 3-dB overlapping high-gain narrow-beam beams are achieved by using microstrip feed array which can cover a conical scan range of ± 6.4°and looks like the Chinese character“井”in the top view.(3)Design of Wide Beam Transmitting Antenna:On the basis of the above multi-beam receiving antenna, four dielectric rod antennas are used as a transmitting source to synthesize a single wide beam through a lens, and the wide beam can covers the scanning range of the receiving antenna, thus it realizes wide beam transmission and narrow beam reception under the same aperture. The simulation and experimental results show that the proposed design achieves the expected wide beam emission and narrow beam reception in Ka band. |
