The development of MIMO technology has laid the foundation of MIMO radar.With radar countermeasure environment becoming more and more complex,researchers have combined MIMO technology with traditional radar,using MIMO technology to make radar signal transmission safer and target detection more reliable,which effectively improve the performance of radar systems.This thesis mainly studied the orthogonal waveform design,the simulation of radar echo and the detection performance of co-located MIMO radar.1.Firstly,the orthogonal waveform of MIMO radar and its correlation performance are analyzed.Because of the advantages of chaotic sequence,a method of designing orthogonal waveform by using chaotic sequence is proposed.Then,the discrete phase coding waveform and the discrete frequency coding waveform sequence are designed by using chaotic sequence,and the factors influencing the discrete frequency coded signal are analyzed.But the auto-correlation sidelobe peak of the discrete frequency coding waveform does not change with the coding length and the number of waveforms.Although the cross correlation peak decreases with the code length,the matching filter result is affected by the high auto-correlation sidelobe.Finally,the sub-pulse of the discrete frequency coding waveform is replaced by chirp signal.The simulation results show that the resulting waveform effectively reduces the auto-correlation sidelobes and improves the detection capability of weak targets.2.The radar echo simulation is analyzed.Compared with the actual environment test,radar echo simulation is only a statistical simulation of the actual environment,and maybe there are some gaps with the real environment,but the radar echo simulation technology consumes less resource,and is more controllable and more practical.The echo of simple discrete metal spheres and ship target are simulated and the effects of different bandwidth and pulse width on echo are analyzed.The simulation of the system noise signal is introduced.Finally,based on the point scatterer clutter model,the clutter echo is simulated by grid impression method,and the simulation results are verified.3.The performance of co-located MIMO radar and phased array radar is analyzed.Through theoretical analysis and simulation,MIMO radar has advantages in terms of anti-intercept performance,radar dynamic range,and velocity resolution.
