3D technology provides depth information of a scene,so that human visual system can perceive three-dimensional effect and have a vivid visual experience.3D technology is attracting more and more academic and industrial research interests.In the field of 3D technology,it is an interesting as well as meaningful issue to adjust object depth in 3D space.The purpose of depth adjustment for 3D images is to change the depth position of one object in the 3D space,and it can be wildly used in a lot of areas,such as 3D content creation,3D comfort enhancement and so on.Therefore,depth adjustment for 3D image is deeply researched in this paperOn the basis of existing methods about depth adjustment for 3D images.We propose a shape-preserving object depth control method for stereoscopic images.The proposed method is based on a new depth mapping model to calculate the ideal coordinates of the key points on the 3D image after depth adjustment,so that the shape and size of the target object can keep relatively unchanged.Furthermore,meshes are drawn on the 3D image.Based on the proposed image content preservation energy term,the coordinate of the mash vertex can be optimally calculated utilizing image warping technology.Experimental results show that the proposed method can keep the size of the object without sensible background distortion and holes while implementing depth adjustment.Based on depth adjustment,we combine the problem of depth adjustment and visual comfort,implement a depth adjustment method that consider visual comfort.The method first analyze the main factor that affect the visual comfort of 3D content,then combine them to find zero parallax plan.After that,by analyzing the impact of parallax magnitude on visual fatigue,the method adjusted the depth range of 3D image based on human visual comfort zone.Experimental results show that our implementation can adjust the distribution and range of the parallax and enhance visual comfort effectively.
