As people pay more attention to 3D stereoscopic display technology, various three-dimensional display equipments have been appearing on the market for the recent years. However, due to the nonuniform design of displays from different manufacturers, varied format critieria of 3D contents, and also, different stereoscopic demands for audience, how to adjust the performance of 3D display concerning people’s need has become a serious problem. This research is based on the principle of Depth Image Based Rendering(DIBR). The 2D color images and its depth maps are used to get virtual images of other perspectives, from which can synthetic stereo images according to the characteristics of different displays. In order to get the best view and build the comfort for the audience, the 3D depth could be adjusted properly. This method won’t change the proportional relationship of objects in the image, which is different from traditional ways. When synthesising the virtual images, originally covered areas in the color image will reveal in the formation of holes. To make the images look more natural, we need to fill in the holes with suitable pixels. This method is real-time and can slove the too-large-data problem. People can adjust the depth of image at any time so that they can obtain the most comfortable depth. Furthermore, the clarity of image is improved by this method with 2db increased.
