As the most proven recognition technology,barcode technology has become the most basic management method in many industries with its economic and practical characteristics.Barcode scanner is the electronic device that can read and output the barcodes.Barcode scanner is one important equipment for data input in most management systems.Because of the advantage of easy to carry,wireless barcode scanner is becoming more and more popular with the market.Bluetooth Low Energy is a wireless personal area network technology.It's to provide a common,point-to-point wireless connection of short range.Compared with classic Bluetooth,Bluetooth Low Energy is intended to provide reduced power consumption and lower hardware cost,while maintaining a similar range of communication.Because of low power consumption and low cost,Bluetooth Low Energy has a good application on in the medical,fitness,smart home and other emerging industries.Bluetooth Low Energy has been accepted by a number of suppliers.Because of the special needs of warehouse management system,especially for cost and power consumption,it's significant to study how to combine Bluetooth Low Energy with barcode scanner.Firstly,this paper analyzes the function and performance requirement of the wireless barcode scanner in the warehouse management system,then designs the architecture of the barcode transmission system based on simple mesh network,and then describes how to use BLE to implement the hardware and software design of the system.In terms of hardware,to resolve higher costs and power consumption,this paper uses Bluetooth Low Energy chipset,designs the low power mode and simplifies the protocol.In terms of software,to improve roaming and the flexibility of network node changes,this paper uses re-broadcast technology and trickle algorithm.In terms of system,to resolve the possible network congestion and transmission delay issues,this paper designs different weight of the data package and the different device roles which are helpful to increase the stability and reliability of the system.Finally,we build the Bluetooth Low Energy barcode scanner and the Bluetooth Low Energy receiver,and use them to test and verify the system functionality and performance.The test results show that the data transmission system designed in this paper meets the design requirements.
