With rapidly developing of technology,data can be normally transferred in different types of interfaces.In order to take normal communications,it's also needed to satisfy the purpose of effective and efficient data transmission.In order to take communications between the PCI interface and 1394 link layer interface,based on the protocol of OHCI,this paper is achieved this transmission.1394 bus is a high-speed serial bus,and it has the characteristics of easy to use,low cost,easy to expanded,and it has flexible configuration,fast speed,and easy to plug and play.With the advance of communication technology,it can be used for personal computers,also used for professional computers and consumer electronic products,also used for testing instruments.It will occupy most of the field of data for input and output fields,and it will become the bus standard for next generation computers.At the same time,PCI local bus is the interface between processor and peripheral control component in microcomputer.It has a good performance in data transmission and data latency,which makes it use in the communication system such as serial system.It also has a wide use in computer for expanded interfaces.In order to realize the normal communication between the PCI interface and the 1394 link layer interface,based on the OHCI protocol,the paper is implemented the normal communication function of the PCI interface and the 1394 interface.In this paper,firstly,based on the advantages of the protocol,the high performance of 1394 bus is needed the requirement of the effective and efficient data transmission.In this paper,we design the DMA operation and FIFO cache to realize the function of date interaction.According to the 1394 protocol,OHCI protocol and PCI protocol,the DMA and FIFO of the buffer mechanism in this paper will be designed,and optimize it in software,to obtain the best performance under conditions.Secondly,it meet the design of the system architecture design,also it includes host bus interface,DMA interface,FIFO,the global only ID address,link layer interface.Using the interaction of modules achieves a data process,then makes date transferring between the PCI interface and 1394 link layer interface.The interrupt registers are designed and simulated.Finally,isochronous transaction and asynchronous transaction realize the process of date transmission,simulation and verification get good results.Based on the OHCI protocol,this paper has a good result that the data transmission reaches the serial bus transmission performance of 800 MHz/s,and realizes the function of sending and receiving digital enhanced video and MPEG data steam,thus meeting the design performance of low power consumption,and having good markets in application prospects.
