With the rapid development of material science and control technology,the magnetostrictive liquid level sensor has been widely used in industrial measurement.The detection signal is the key of the magnetostrictive liquid level sensor,and has an important effect on the measurement accuracy of the sensor.In this paper,Fe-Ga is used as a guide wire material in the magnetostrictive liquid level sensor.According to the magnetostrictive inverse effect,two aspects are analyzed which are the torsional strength of the waveguide wire and the detection coil.The main factors that influence the detection signal of the magnetostrictive liquid level sensor are obtained.Firstly,the experimental platform is built,which is mainly composed of the power supply,the pulse generating circuit,guide wire,the detection coil,stainless steel casing,damping device and so on.Based on the experimental platform,a series of experiments are performed to study the effects of pulsed voltage,float,the waveguide wire and other factors on the detection signal of the sensor.The research results provide data reference for the hardware and software design of the sensor.According to the above analysis,the sensor is optimized for each part.In the part of the power supply,the switching power supply chip LM2576 is adopted,which is more efficient and meets the safety requirements.In the part of the signal processing,the differential amplifier circuit form is used.In the part of the control,more cost-effective ATmega16 is selected as the control chip.High precision time measurement chip TDC-GP2 is chosen as a time chip.DS18B20 is used as a temperature measuring chip,and LCD1602 is used as the part of display.FIR software filtering method combined with hardware signal processing is used in the signal processing.Finally,the sensor is tested and calibrated,and the calibration results are analyzed.The research results provide a reference for the development of high performance magnetostrictive liquid level sensor in China,which lays a practical basis for the application of magnetostrictive liquid level sensor of Fe-Ga.
