After World War II,the evolution of information technology brings the expansion of globalization, thus deepening the interdependent relationship among international community.Through systemic interaction of community members, national image comes into being and becomes a unique name card for each country. In October,2013,Mr.Xi Jinping put forward the “One Belt One Road” initiative.Till now three year has gone.Undoubtedly,Indonesia occupies a significant place in the intercultural communication of “One Belt One Road”.The construction of China-Indonesia Community will lift national images of both sides. The study aims to find the gap between China's national image posed by itself and that constructed by Indonesian mainstream media. The paper also tries to explore the way to fill the gap and build consensus on Indo-Sino community through the theoretical grounding of Moderate Constructivism by Alexander Wendt.Via content analysis and framing analysis on the media coverage of The Jakarta Post,it is found that China's image is quite complex and contradictory. On one hand,Indonesia could benefit from cooperation with China because of China's strong economy and cutting-edge technology. On the other hand, disagreements on South China Sea issues, trade frictions and cross-nation crime damage China's image badly.Generally,Indonesia media portray China as a proactive participant in world affairs with its terrible ambitions. To achieve consensus between China and Indonesia,it still has a long way to go.Therefore, the author suggests that more attention should be paid to value sharing, instead of cooperation for material benefits merely. Both countries need to keep long-term interactions in order to build an Indo-Sino community consensus eventually. At last, the paper gives some advice for governments, civil society, enterprises and media to make breakthrough. The study combines theories of International Relations and Cross-cultural Communication, focuses on hot political issues, and attaches importance to both theory and practice.
