Along with the development of the receiver and the development of communication system,the receiver has played an important role in phased array radar,radio astronomy,wireless communication system and so on.In this paper an 8 channel receiver is designed in the application background of smart antenna.It can achieve correction and synthetic function of the beam when combined with the PC software.1 The core technology of smart antenna-beam informs,depending on the analog and digital domains.According to the actual system requirements,a low costs analog domain beam synthesis system is designed.This paper realizes the function of amplitude modulation and phase shift by using vector multiplier.So as to guarantee the system work when reducing the complexity of the system,and it reduces costs.As a key part of multi-channel receiver,phase and amplitude modulation can be achieved by vector multiplier.After considering the problems such as accuracy,integration and cost,a multi-channel receiver used in low frequency of the solution is studied.2 This paper has realized the amplitude modulation and phase shift by using a vector multiplier,which replaced the traditional digital phase shifter and adjustable gain amplifier chip.Using adjustable vector multiplier to meet the demand of the precision of minimum phase shift and amplitude modulation.By using this method,interference sources problem because of two LO signal can be solved,ensuring the normal operation of the system.3 In order to achieve the purpose of engineering application,we needed to calibrate each channel receiver and the degree imbalance of smart antenna with the support of hardware receiver.A scalable compensated system built with Labview for vector multiplier and control beam synthesis can be realized at the same time.Through the reasonable calibration algorithm,finally the measured results can be realized that single channel phase 360 ° is adjustable,0.18 ° correction accuracy;Amplitude of dynamic range 20 dB,the accuracy of 0.2 dB.Finally,based on the application scenario,the multi-channel receiver antenna array can be designed based on the test results of the array antenna in the anechoic chamber.
