Multi-beam swath bathymeter is a seafloor mapping equipment which has high efficiency of measuring, high precision of measuring, high resolution of measuring. It fits for wide sweep mapping especially. With the developing of science & technology and the changing of market demand, the bathymeter has already become the trend of this field at present to the development of miniaturization. The paper is on the basis of first multi-beam swath bathymeter of our country, carry on research miniaturization of bathymeter.In the paper, the main task is the design of shallow water multi-beam swath bathymeter system. It includes the primary work of system design (inquiry and neaten relative information), the research of principium of shallow water multi-beam swath bathymeter system, the design of whole system, the calculating of performances' indexes and the analysis and research of system's key technology. The detailed anolog circuits of transmitter and receiver of shallow water multi-beam swath bathymeter system were realized. At last, problems about hardware design were discussed and some personal ideas about how to improve this system were promoted.In this paper, platform of partial hardware was designed, sub receiver composed by resistance-phase-shift network was introduced in details and the flexibility of analog beam-forming was improved. At the same time, receiver with 16 channels was designed by using power operation amplifier, the whole structure of system was designed and every performance was studied. Several schemes were promoted according to system's key parts. The paper has laid the foundation for the further development of shallow multi-beam swath bathymeter in job.
