At present,with the rapid development of China's economy,people's living standards are improving gradually as well as people's security awareness.Video surveillance,as the product of modern communication technology and traditional video technology,is one of the cores of the whole security system,and has also been widely used in national defense,transportation,medical,water conservancy,education and industrial production.In recent years,the high-speed growth of embedded technology?video image processing and 3G / 4G network has promoted the development of video surveillance to a new height.Meanwhile,the storage of massive data has brought great challenges for video surveillance.Now SD card is the mainstream tool for home video surveillance system to store video data,but the drawbacks of this approach are obvious.First,the SD card is limited capacity and poor capacity,it does not support online expansion;Second,the SD card is easy to be lost and the security of data can't be guaranteed.In addition,in terms of video image coding,the main task of motion estimation is to get accurate motion vector faster,during the whole video coding process,motion estimation spend the longest time and cost the most resource.Although there are already many classic algorithms,such as HEXBS algorithm,DS algorithm,UMHexagonS algorithm.Motion estimation is still the bottleneck of video compression coding,especially for moving video images.In the good situation of video surveillance development trend,selecting the reasonable storage technology,high-capacity storage solutions and optimizing the existing video coding algorithm can promote the integration of various video surveillance applications,improve the work efficiency of entire system.The significance of this topic is that,for small-scale video surveillance system,making full use of computers and hard drives based on FreeNAS operating system to build a low cost storage device similar to NAS for video data storage.At the same time,some optimization ideas are put forward through the study of the advantages and disadvantages of the existing video coding UMHexagonS algorithm,and the algorithm is optimized in FFmpeg video capture,carrying out the simulation experiment to improve the coding rate and reduce transmission rate in condition that the image quality is not affected.
