Mantis shrimps possess complex vision system,which contains 16 kinds of photoreceptor types and can identify visible light,ultraviolet light,and polarized light.It is helpful to the study of bionic polarized spectral imaging,and can provide important support for application of bionic mantis shrimp's imaging technology on target detection.In this paper,the optical structure of mantis shrimp's eyes is introduced,and the imaging process of the shrimp mantis is analyzed and simulated.Firstly by studying the photosensitivity and distribution of microvilli in photoreceptor cell,the mechanism of polarization antagonism and the spectral characteristics of mantis shrimp's eyes are analyzed.The polarization antagonism mechanism of mantis shrimp's eyes was integrated with the Stokes polarization detection technique,and the spectral characteristics of mantis shrimp's eyes were integrated with the filter type spectral imaging to form the polarized spectral imaging mechanism of bionic mantis shrimp's eyes.And then we used the Zemax software to build the optical model of the compound eye of shrimp mantis,simulated the effect of ommatidia isolating stray light,besides,used the Virtual-Lab software to simulate the photoreceptors of mantis shrimp's eyes,and study the process to identify polarized light.Finally,according to the polarized spectral imaging mechanism of bionic mantis shrimp's eyes,the principle experiment was carried out.Based on the experiment of the polarized spectral imaging mechanism of bionic mantis shrimp's eyes,it is shown that the Stokes parameter,the polarization degree image and the polarization angle image of the target are obtained through the antagonistic treatment,and the polarization state of the target is different from that of the background,so it is easy to extract from the camouflage background.With the detection of different bands,the detection target gray value curve is significantly different,that is the spectral characteristics of different.Therefore,the polarization imaging of bionic mantis shrimp's eyes and spectral imaging of bionic mantis shrimp's eyes complemented with each other,can improve the accuracy of target detection.
