Research On 3D Video Generation Technology Based On Conventional Display

With the development of science and technology, 3D video technology are involved in a wide range of applications such as industrial production, military, people's daily life and so on.Currently, most of the 3D video products require the viewer to wear auxiliary equipment to watch the video. The high hardware requirements results in them not to be widely popularized.On contrast, the studies to generate 3D video are seldom based on the conventional display devices and the corresponding software. This paper presented a method for 3D video generating based on the script language MaxScript running in 3DMAX. A universal and high efficient software was developed for 3D video generation. The main points of the paper are as follows:(1) Some analyses were carried out based on the theory of computer graphics, such as 3D graphics geometric transformation, 3D display technology as well as the advantages and operation methods of MaxScript. The technology schem was presented based on the basic principle of 3D graphic transformation, which was realized by generating a series of key frames automatically and then generating 3D video.(2) The operation flows of three software modules were established respectively for automatic generation of single key frame image, interactive parameter setting and video automatic editing. The overall architecture of software system was designed.(3) A software was developed by using VB language to generate Maxscript file automatically. While the series of key frames could be generated automatically by running the Maxscript file in 3D Studio Max. Also, the interactive view and track setting program was developed by using VB. The video edit was carried out in Corel VideoStudio. The software interfaces were designed for the three software modules.(4) The operation flow and effect of the software were illustrated by three examples and the feasibility of the method was proved.The research of this paper provides a new idea for the 3D Vedio automatic generation based on the conventional display device. The software developed is of simple and high efficient. It can be widely used in many kinds of computer virtual 3D display.
