Industrial controlling display device is an important component of the industrialcontrolling system, usually with a certain information processing capacity andindustrial communication network interfaces, which has the displaying function aboutcontrol information and the man-machine interaction..This paper focuses on the industrial controlling display device of rail transitsystems, such as the train and metro’s vehicle monitor. At present, vehicle monitor isbased on X86processor, that is similar to PC in software. To enhance systemreliability in this project, the development of industrial controlling display device isadopted the embedded processor, but there is no mature commercial platform onsoftware system. Therefore, the development of software system is the key to theindustrial controlling display device.This paper presents a detailed analysis of the embedded processor and operatingsystem and establishes the system solutions of the industrial controlling displaydevice. In addition, the selection of CPU, operating system and graphical interfacesystem is analyzed in detail in this paper. This system is developed with ARMprocessor, embedded Linux operating system, Tiny-x and graphical applicationdevelopment tool FLTK.This paper introduces the establishment of the software system of the industrialcontrolling display device and focuses on device driver development and majorhardware module driver implementation,including device drive of frame buffer, I2C,RS485, CAN and GPIO.This paper focuses on the development of FLTK which is a free open sourcegraphics developing tool, that can’t meet the requirement of the industrial controllingdisplay but customization. This paper describes the development environment ofFLTK and the development of custom controls and focuses on the projectdevelopment in user interface designer FLUID, the addition of controls and attributes,the display of Chinese font, and key message handling function.The accomplishment of the software system of industrial controlling displaydevice based on ARM processor and Linux realizes the independent development ofindustrial controlling display device that has a huge market value and technical value.
