The Study Of The Reports On Victims From Public Emergencies From The Perspective Of Hermeneutics

The relationship between meaning interpretation and communication is the core content of modern communication activities.Our country's reports on public emergencies have been in a “humanism” holographic open mode since 2003.Besides announcing the latest news of emergencies,media plays a “caregiver” role such as focusing on victim's individual deeds.This attention often arouses audience's empathy or even behavioral aid for victims.No matter the disseminator's reports on victim's deeds or audience's empathy or aid,it all relies on the understanding on the objects of interpretation.Disseminator's understanding is on the news fact while audience's understanding is on the news text.By focusing on hermeneutic theories as well as applying text analysis,case analysis and content analysis methods,this article discusses presentation mode of news media's reports on victims as well as audience's understanding mode of the reports and analyzes their influencing factors.There are few scholars applying hermeneutic theories to the study of news communication currently.The introduction of this article can provide new thinking for the study of media discourse meaning as well as audience's reception.By introducing the theoretical connotation of hermeneutics,and analyzing the possibility of introducing hermeneutics theory into journalism and communication research,This paper first puts forward the consistency of object and purpose between hermeneutics and communication activities.Then,the author analyzes the form of victims' reports and audience's presentation to these reports in public emergencies after 2003,and found that news media focused on "rescue hero" in the period from 2003 to 2008 because of pre-understanding structure.But after 2008,the story behind ordinary victims were deeply excavated by news media.At the same time,the existence of distanciation in the process of news communication makes audience have different understanding styles when they read news,such as "empathy" to victims,subversion and negation to the communicator's purpose.Finally,the paper discusses the question of "Is there a line in the understating” and thinks that it is necessary to give a limit to news reporting activities because news text ca n influence a large number of audiences."Textual intent" and social ethics are the boundaries of specific reporting activities.In contrast,audience's understanding and acceptance is a kind of individual behavior,their negotiation or confrontational interpretations have cultural construction meaning,so,we should not limit their understanding activities.
