Aging is an inevitable natural outcome for human-being.Around the world increasing proportion of the elderly population is becoming a serious problem.Public Old-Age institutions around the world are under enormous pressure.Some foreign scholars proposed the concept of "home care" to alleviate the shortage of public resources.And the basic point of "home care" is the elderly positioning system,which is designed to find lost old people.In China,the problem of elderly lost is particularly serious,and the majority of the issues occurred in isolated areas.The traditional elderly positioning system uses GPS to locate,then transmits the positioning information through GPRS / GSM transmission to the remote server,but signals can not be applied in some of the isolated areas.Single positioning mode with GPS is also difficult to guarantee accuracy.To solve the mentioned problem,this thesis designs an elderly positioning system based on Beidou Navigation Satellite System and Android platform.The system mainly includes three modules: handheld positioning terminal,a server and an Android application.We uses a BDS/GPS dual-mode positioning chip as the core hardware of the positioning terminal.According to the principle of BDS/GPS integrated positioning,the dual-mode positioning method can improve the positioning accuracy to a certain extent.In general,the hand-held terminal transmits the location information to the server via GPRS technology.However,in the isolated areas where the base station signal can not be reached,using the short-message communicating mode of BDS to transmit information is necessary.This thesis provides a short-message communicating scheme for the elderly positioning system and verifies the feasibility of the scheme.In Server part,this thesis uses Ali cloud server as the hardware foundation,My SQL as the database management system and PHPmyadmin as the remote database graphical user interface。We design the database Relation Tables according to the demands of the system.And corresponding PHP script has been written to do information lookups,adds and deletes in the database.In Android application part,this thesis designs the main functional modules of the Android application.We first configure the development environment of Android then write code by Android Studio.Our work mainly includes: interactive interface designing,user login registration SMS verification code functional module designing,real-time positioning realization and Android network programming(interacting with the data in server).Finally,this thesis has carried out the overall experiment with the elderly positioning system,which mainly includes: test of Android application interacting with the database,test of real-time positioning and some related functions,test of data transmission using Beidou-Hailiao shortmessage communicating scheme.
