RF performance is an important part of mobile phone terminal performance. In recentyears, with the rapid development of Internet, performance of mobile phone terminals increases rapidly and frequency bands of mobile phones increase continuously from only 2G originally to full network now. The time for mobile phone calibration also increases significantly. How to fast and accurately test RF performance of mobile phones becomes an important issue that manufacturers need to address. Traditional test methods cannot meet the growing needs for testing and have problems such as low test efficiency and high error rate.This paper analyzes in detail the RF calibration procedure(Procedure for short) of mobile phone terminals and designs and implements a mobile phone RF calibration test system to address problems of current mobile phone calibration methods. This topic describes the methods and concept of calibration and introduces key technologies involved in this paper based on the advantages and shortcomings of the Procedure. It also analyzes in detail the requirements of mobile phone RF calibration and designs relevant calibration procedure and system database. Treating automatic power control(APC), automatic gain control(AGC),automatic frequency control(AFC) as the basic software requirements, this topic builds a mobile phone terminal RF calibration system. It also creates a Windows-based mobile phone automated test environment and applies devices such as R&S CMU200 and AG66319 B to calibrate and download RF parameters. Finally, it backs up and restores the data and results of the calibration processes in the database and summarizes those using the calibration system designed in this paper and analyzes the test results.The automated mobile phone calibration procedure designed in this paper shows that the proposed calibration solution can greatly increase the efficiency and accuracy of calibration while reducing the error rate.
