In order to meet the needs of industrial production testing of enameled wire,this paper developed a laser scanning diameter measuring instrument with FPGA+ ARM for the diameter of non transparent wire in the range of 0.1000 mm ~ 5.0000 mm,based on the research of laser gauge and industrial measurement at home and abroad.In this paper,the principles of scanning laser diameter measurement are discussed in detail.A general design scheme of scanning laser diameter measuring instrument is presented,designing hardware part and software part.The system is mainly controlled by FPGA and ARM,and the hardware part mainly includes : power management module,photoelectric signal processing module,main controller module,Ethernet communication module and digital tube display module;the software part mainly includes: FPGA data acquisition module,ARM data processing module,digital tube display module and communication module.The power management module converts the input voltage to the power supply voltage required by each module of the system.Photoelectric signal processing module processes the optical signal of the optical path measuring system into the electrical signal required by the main controller.Main controller module collects the pulse signal from the photoelectric signal processing module and deals with the final measurement results.The Ethernet communication module sends the result of the measurement to the host computer through the Ethernet port.The digital tube display module can calibrate the data through the button and display the measurement result.Finally,complete the debugging and testing of each function module,prototype's performance is measured by the following eight standard test pieces: the diameter of 0.1000 mm,0.3000 mm,0.7000 mm,1.0000 mm,2.0000 mm,3.0000 mm,4.0000 mm,and 5.0000 mm.The repeatability and stability of the scanning laser diameter measuring instrument is tested according to the provisions of JJF 1250-2010 "laser gauge calibration standard ".The experimental results shows that scanning laser diameter measurement instrument which is based on ARM+GPGA can accurately measure non transparent and non transparent wire in the range of 0.1mm-5mm,and the measurement data can be sent to the host computer for real-time monitoring.The scanning laser diameter measuring instrument has the advantages of simple structure,convenient use and high stability.It can meet the design requirements fully,and has a good application prospects.
