Design And Implementation Of The Student Financial Assistance Management System For Colleges And Universities

Student Financial Assistance is an important part of the student work in universities.In recent years,since the enrollment in colleges and universities have been expanding,the traditional,paper-based and labor operations funded work has became challenging.While accompanied by the relevant departments increase the State student financial assistance intensity year by year,there have been a variety of scholarships,grants and other funding projects,which are full of uncertainty in both quantity and the amount,with a series of complex mechanisms of evaluation.All these contribute to higher requirements on the quality of service and the effectiveness at present.As a representative of computer and software technology,the evolution of information technology provides an important support to efficiently address and resolve student financial assistance.By using information technology,building a functional,powerful and reliable student financial assistance system that easy to operate,has become an inevitable demand and necessary safeguard for the information construction of student financial assistance in modern universities.In this paper,we set an example of Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao,relying on the work of its student financial assistance services,we design and implement the student financial assistance management system.To ensure the feasibility,before doing an overall design and detailed designs for the system,the system requirements have been analyzed through a detailed preliminary research,including functional and non-functional requirements analysis,as well as technical,economic and operational feasibility analysis.Then the system development process has been described in detail from systematic and strictly in accordance with software engineering and scientific software development process.Putting forward that project is including requirements analysis,system design,database design,system testing and other links.For the usability,the system is based on a typical B/S structure,using PHP dynamic language to achieve major functions and MySQL database application to ensure the data management and security.For the comprehensiveness,the system mainly includes eight modules:management of poor students,students to the national student loan management,campus National Student Loan Management,state grants management,management of national motivational scholarships,work-study management,other financial assistance management and system management.For the availability,after the design of the system,the realization of a part of module functions were tested,and be founded on the test cases,the realization of functions in this system were tested and verified.Also the system will be optimized based on the test process and practice and finally done.Tested and actual deployment uses show,functions of the system mainly covers the financial assistance work in NEUQ,well meeting the needs of application and management of this work at the present stage,reducing the burden of managers,ensuring the accuracy and security of data,improving work efficiency at the same time and ultimately enhancing the level of information technology.
