An Ad Hoc network is a new type of wireless communication system,whic h is self-organized and multi hop.It does not need network infrastructures,and can be built flexiblely.These features make it very suitable for such as battle field,disaster relief and other special mobile application scenarios.So,in recent years,Ad Hoc networks have received attention and research.The broadcast characteristic of wireless channel is very suitable for multicast service,which can effectively save bandwidth and red uce data transmission overhead.However the nodes in Ad Hoc networks maybe move frequently and quickly,so that network topology changes dynamically,which leads to packet loss,and network performance degrades ultimately.So the research of Ad Hoc networks is very important.A reliable multicast routing protocol in Ad Hoc networks is proposed in this thesis.Firstly,the classification and performance comparison of reliable multicast routing protocols in Ad Hoc networks are presented.Secondly,implement and test the MAO DV protocol based on the Ad Hoc networks platform,and actual network test results achieve desired purpose.Thirdly,aiming at the shortage of MAODV protocol in multicast transmission reliability,improve its packet distribution mode,add packet caching mechanism,loss recovery mechanism and low overhead mechanism,design and implement a reliable multicast routing protocol MAO DV-RL.At last,the MAODV protocol and the MAODV-RL protocol are tested and analyzed in detail by using the software test platform.The test results show that the MAODV-RL protocol is far superior to the MAODV protocol in several multiple protocol performance.The comparison between MAO DV-RL and another four reliable multicast ro uting protocols is made on packet delivery ratio,and the results prove that the MAODV-RL protocol is superior to the four reliable multicast routing protocols in packet delivery ratio.In this thesis,the protocols performance tests are completed by the software test program which is specially developed.In several test scenarios,performance comparison and analysis between the MAODV-RL protocol and the MAODV protocol are made on packet delivery ratio,dynamic adaptability,scalability and average multica st packet transmission hops.The test results show that the MAO DV-RL protocol's overhead is higher than the MAODV protocol,but the MAODV-RL protocol is much better than the MAODV protocol in packet delivery ratio,dynamic adaptability,scalability and average multicast packet transmission hops.In the same scenarios,the packet delivery ratio of the MAODV-RL protocol is higher than other four reliable multicast routing protocols.These test results show that the MAODV-RL protocol which is developed on the basis of the Ad Hoc networks platform and the MAODV protocol achieves desired goals in multicast reliability.
