At present,the "Internet of Things"(Io T)has become the focus of world attention,and the radio frequency identification(RFID)technology is highly valued as a key technology to build Io T.The RFID technology has the advantages of little environmental impact,non-contact and high recognition efficiency,and can be applied to many fields such as industrial and commercial automation.However,compared to the bar code and other technologies,the success of RFID technology business applications are limited by the high cost of electronic tags,which is one of the key factors.Chipless RFID tags do not contain expensive silicon chips,which can significantly reduce the price of electronic tags,thus greatly expanding the application of RFID.So the development of chipless radio frequency identification technology has broad application prospects.A large number of researchers are deeply researching chipless tags currently,but chipless RFID reader is still in the budding period.A chipless RFID reader is designed and researched for the chipless tag based on spectrum characteristics in this paper.Firstly,according to the working characteristics of chipless tags based on spectrum characteristics,the working principle of the chipless RFID system is studied.The working principle is as follows: The reader generates a multi-frequency detection signal.And then the reader will decode the tag according to the amplitude and phase information of the return signal and transmit the decoded information to the host computer to complete the identification of the target tag.Secondly,the overall indexes and architectures of the reader are studied according to the system principle,and the hardware circuit and software codes are also designed.The reader mainly contains the RF front-end section and the digital control section.The RF front-end is mainly responsible for transmitting the detection signal,generating the reference signal,receiving the coded signal of the tag and detecting the change of the amplitude and phase information of the encoded signal.Digital control part is mainly responsible for controlling the transmission signal,decoding chipless tags and communicating with the host computer.Again,the functions of the main module of the reader are tested.And the chipless reader and tag are combined to complete the chipless RFID system test.The results indicating the correctness of the reader design.Finally,in order to extend the operating frequency band and improve the overall performance of the reader,a frequency synthesizer which generates signals from 54 MHz to 13600 MHz is designed.
