Research And Implementation Of Network Management Plug-in Based On The NETCONF Protocol

With the development of science technology and the emergence of emerging application,the network structure is becoming more and more complicated.The traditional network management system encounters great challenge in function and performance of network management,network security facing so complicated and changeable environment.NETCONF protocol uses hierarchical structure,the content layer can support complex table structure which is corresponding to network equipment object.The operation layer extends the SNMP protocol operation.The RPC layer provides a transport mechanism having nothing to do with transport protocol,the transport layer introduce a mapping scheme to the transport protocol SSH,SOAP,BEEP.As the characteristics of NETCONF,it plays a better role in operating network equipment more easily and network security when managing complex network equipment,compared with the traditional network management protocol SNMP.Firstly,the paper outlines the specific content of NETCONF protocol and the related technology.Secondly it researchs the communication mechanism between the SOAP client and the network equipment server,analyzes the functions of majority modules,the communication process between them,especially the interaction of XML plug-in with related system modules.Then it implements a XML configuration plug-in corresponding with IRF network function in order to describe the process of designing and realizing a XML plug-in.the main NETCONF protocol operations including get,get-config,edit-config.At last,the paper validates the function of IRF configuration plug-in.Througing constructing environment of network equipment,sending request message in the SOAP client and observe the requested message,we can verify if the XML plug-in can realize the operation of NETCONF protocol correctly.
