In recent years,Information-Centric Networking(ICN),a popular direction in the field of future network,is expanding from the core network to edge networks,such as sensor networks.The in-network caching mechanism,a key scheme for improving the efficiency of addressing and utilization of network resources,is one of the kernels of ICN.However,the previous works focused mainly on the in-network caching in the core network.Since special features of the sensor network are the dynamic topology,the ability limited node and the energy-aware,it is a challenge to design the caching scheme for information-centric sensor network.Firstly,we build three basic models including caching network topology model,content popularity model,and exogenous request access model according to the characteristics of information-centric sensor network.Next,comparing with various existing caching schemes,we design an uncoordinated caching scheme.Furthermore,we take into account the effects of the importance of cache nodes and the value of cache content on cache performance,and then propose a new cooperative caching scheme.Moreover,we design an evaluation index system of caching scheme.The parameters of our caching scheme are optimized by a series of simulations.The simulation results also show that the proposed caching scheme can improve the cache hit rate and the resource utilization,and reduce the network delay in sensor networks.Finally,we implement the prototype of the caching scheme based on the Telosb sensor nodes.
