Known as one of the most successful computer applications,E-mail is widely used in people's daily life and work,playing a vital role.And with the development of Big Data and mobile Internet,the spreading and applying scope of E-mail has been immensely broadened.However,the privacy infringement that happens during using E-mail has raised public doubts about E-mail,as well as more expectation of security based on privacy protection.Starting with an interdisciplinary perspective of communication and law,this paper,including six chapters,probes into the infringement and protection of privacy during the spreading of E-mail,putting forward the protection of privacy with the reality of infringement to the Internet privacy,especially in E-mail.Chapter one,the Introduction,explains the background,status and methodology of the research and defines key concepts such as Big Data and the right to Internet privacy.Chapter two analyzes the characteristics,participants and functions of E-mail,clarifying present trend of E-mail towards digitization and mobilization.Chapter three discusses spam's features and its harm to personal information with comments of spam governance at home and abroad.Chapter four analyzes threats of privacy in E-mail,the subjects of privacy infringement and constitutive elements of privacy infringement in a perspective of law.Chapter five illustrates the liability for the infringement of the right to privacy in E-mail,including the pattern of civil liability,criminal liability and administrative liability as well as specific ones.Chapter six proposes a protection system for Internet privacy concerning individuals,corporations,Internet industry and administrations.
