A Comparison Analysis On Terrorist Reports Under The View Of Framing Theory

Terrorism has become more widespread and high-frequency which employs ruthless methods and has bloody scene in recent years.With the development of globalization and media circumstance,the communication of terrorism presents new traits.The media,especially the foreign media is the primary and authoritative way to get message on news of terrorism for the audiences.Whether the foreign mainstream media reports on the terrorism,what kind of report policy they employ,what comment attitude they take,and all above are important to know and make judgement on the terrorism for the audiences.The paper takes 5.22 Xinjiang Terrorism event and Paris Terrorism event as example and takes reports on 5.22 Xinjiang Terrorism event and Paris Terrorism event from CNN as the main subject.Furthermore,this paper investigates the discourse construction which the foreign media characterized by CNN reports some terrorism-related event in China and the West and problems on form of ideological bias and double standard from the aspects of the identification,attribution,length,genre and high-frequency word of issue on report content.The two reports form CNN which present the difference between cognition and understanding,the main reason lies in the national ideological bias and lacks agreement on the identification of terrorism in the international community.Problem on what is terrorism has a lot of views.The West constructs an image of the other to divert attention from his domestic.And they are apt to use stereotype to treat the groups outside of their own.Commercial operation of CNN leads to report violent event in China by deliberately exaggerating contradiction and highlighting dramatic effect to attain sensational effect.Make analysis of difference and reason on Xinjiang and Paris terrorism reported by CNN,and then study on and think about the ideological bias and double standard in the report,last put forward some effective strategy on reporting of external report on terrorism-related event,effectively communicating Chines voice and constructing Chinese image.Change the way of international communication,abandon the limitation of dualistic thinking and ideological bias and use means of balanced reporting.What's more,pay attention to the difference between China and the west,accept the difference on political thinking and cultural understanding,and set reflection form on event reporting.Moreover,strength the Chinese voice in international conversation and weaken the serious official color report by supporting real scene.Last but not least,express Chinese attitude effectively,construct China image,enhance cooperation between other countries and expression of Chinese voice.
