Research On The Design Of Parenting Application Based On Ethnography

In recent years, "two-child fertility policy for couples where either the husband or the wife is from a single-child family" and "the universal two-child policy" have been implemented successively in China. In the next year, the population of newborns will increase from 1.5 million to 2 million. With the rapid expansion of parenting population scale in our country,the development of maternal and infant industry ushered in the unprecedented. Parenting application has become an important way for people to get parental knowledge. In this paper, By using Ethnography method to segment the group of parenting application users combined with market research, in the application market,we found not one Parenting application aimed at the large number of working mothers for them .Through Ethnography studies of the working moms groups in this paper, and design an application which meets the characteristics and needs for group.The research based on the theory of Ethnography.Analyzing the investigated procedures of Ethnography, the character of Ethnography and the function of products in different stages of product design. By analyzing the theory of user research, then exploring the relationship between user research and Ethnography.By researching the status of the Parenting application in the mobile application market and perspectives of interaction design,providing effective supports for Parenting application developing. The research proposes the research process of Parenting application based on Ethnography methodology as well as makes a field survey of working mothers. Analyzing the survey data and the the character of working mothers group.Finally,establish the Parenting application user role model and summarize the design opportunities.By analyzing the design elements of Parenting application,then put forward the principle of interaction design for Parenting application. The research summarizes the design opportunities of developing Parenting application which targets working mothers and the function module of products in order to finalize the organizational structure design of Parenting application.Taking the Parenting application which target to design for working mothers as an example and putting the interactive design principles into the design application. To analyze the visual elements, finish the visual design of product and make the test of product in dynamic prototype. The research enriches the user research method of Parenting application which makes the method more reasonable and feasible. The research may give some enlightenments to the future Parenting applications' developers.
