Study On The American Mainstream Media Coverage On China

Reform and open policy have transformed China's face.China has gained considerable success and the global focus.The international mainstream media coverage is an important channel for world to understand China and the Chinese.Only by constantly taking China national image's pulse can we truly understand the national image of our country in the eyes of international mainstream media.Based on this,we can adjust our foreign communication strategies in time and achieve the most ideal communication effect as much as possible.Taking the coverage on coverage on China that American mainstream media,New York Times,gave from 2015 to 2016 as the research sample,this paper probed coverage the reports quantitative,types,from the perspective of macro,to grasp the overall situation of the New York Times reports on China.It is found that political and economic class report are the subject report.Secondly,choose " China factors" series report,on the topic micro,to analysis the characteristics and aim at summarizing the China image that the current international mainstream medias present.Through analyzing of negative effects on China,aimed at providing several referential and feasible suggestions and plans and some help for the Chinese publicity work.
