With the rapid development of mobile communication and the explosive increase of mobile terminals,limited spectrum resources can not meet the demand of unlimited data.Multiple-Input Multiple-Output(MIMO)can improve system channel capacity without increasing bandwidth and transmission power.Meanwhile,it can improve the reliability of transmission system through beamforming technique,spatial multiplexing,diversity gain,interference coordination and so on.Three-dimensional(3D)MIMO technology can make fully use of the elevation dimension and its capacity has bigger improvement compared with 2D MIMO.In order to simulate the real environment MIMO channel more accurately,we need to study 3D MIMO channel model and simulate the corresponding channel characteristic.The main research contents and innovative work in this paper are as follows:Firstly,3D MIMO simulation platform was researched.Based on 3GPP 3D MIMO model and WINNER(Wireless World Initiative New Radio)simulation platform,3D MIMO channel model was studied including establishing 3D coordinate system,antenna pattern,terminal and base station height,as well as extending vertical angle of the scatters.In addition,the modification of path loss model,large scale parameters table and channel impulse response of 3D MIMO model had been calculated based on the measured data,and the function of antenna interface to WINNER platform,scene expansion,parameters input and 3D MIMO channel simulation have also been realized.Secondly,3D channel measurements were carried out for 3D MIMO channel modeling and simulations.In this work,the simulation experiments and analysis were done based on the measurement at 26 GHz millimeter wave band in indoor office including line-of-sight(LOS),non-line-of-sight(NLOS),and the corridor scenarios.Specifically,the 2D MIMO channel and 3D MIMO channel in the WINNER urban micro-cell(UMi)scenarios were compared and simulated to analyze the distribution and statistical characteristics of the channel parameters and channel capacities.Thirdly,the time varying characteristics of 3D MIMO model were studied.This paper focused on the simulation of the continuous path scene.Drifting model was built by updating the small scale parameters of each segment,e.g,delays,departure and arrival angels,polarization,shadow fading and K-Factor based on the position of the terminal.Further,the time-varying characteristics of urban macro-cell(UMa)MIMO channel were analyzed based on channel parameters simulation.By analyzing the time-varying performance of 3D MIMO channel and comparing with staticmodels,the reliability of channel model was confirmed which is important for studying high-speed and other dynamic scenes.
