As the chip design has entered the SoC era,SoC continuously increase system integration,reduce power consumption and physical size,which requires very high bandwidth and high performance processing capabilities,especially for multimedia-related applications.Inside the Mobile So C,except CPU,there are twenty or thirty different components at work.We need to pay attention to camera,screen performance and other important aspects.Evaluating So C architecture whether can meet the requirements of the system requirement need to be solved before So C design.To predict the dynamic performance of a multi-functional,multiapplication So C architecture,system-level simulation and performance analysis must be performed early in the design cycle.When the architecture is determined,it is necessary to consider the balance of PPA(performance,power consumption,area)of So C.The performance of So C chip is very important in all aspects.Based on the importance of multimedia in the So C,and we need to do system-level simulation and performance analysis at an early state in the time of architecture determination.Therefore,this paper is divided into three stages for the performance analysis of multimedia module.First of all,we calculate the bandwidth requirement of the typical application case by static analysis.And the bandwidth data of each module in each case are applied to dynamic simulation,which can make the foundation for the later dynamic simulation.Secondly,the static data on the analysis of performance and power design decisions is not accurate enough in the time of design determination.Therefore,the dynamic simulation must be the necessary means of architecture design,Flex No C is the first choice for highperformance So C interconnects,and a unique architecture ensures low latency and high throughput requirements.And through the intuitive,powerful design tools can improve the efficiency of the design especially for high performance and low power consumption of large So C design.Therefore,this paper based on Flex No C to establish System C model for dynamic simulation.In the process of dynamic simulation,the dynamic simulation aimed at FIFO size and frequency.After continuous iteration,the bottleneck of performance is found.Then determine the performance related parameters that meet the PPA.By comparing the bandwidth calculated by the static scenario calculation and the bandwidth data obtained from the dynamic simulation,it can be concluded that the parameter setting is in line with the requirements.Finally,since RTL level simulation is close to the reality,it is necessary to continue performance simulation analysis at RTL level.In order to more convenient and faster for the performance simulation of the various modules of multimedia simulation,in the project integrated and the multimedia subsystem,and prepare for the testbench.Each module communicate with the AXI bus protocol,so we use the AXI protocol to prepare for performance test scripts,and ultimately get the performance simulation data of each module.The paper is based on the Intel project,and realized the basic analysis method of multimedia performance analysis,which can be extended to the performance analysis of other So C other modules.Through these three stages of calculation and simulation analysis,we can find out performance bottlenecks and efficiently solve them in the early stages of chip development.Then continue to verify and analyze the performance data in the RTL stage.
