Electromagnetic pulse has a high instantaneous energy and it will cause the surrounding electronic equipment failure or even burned.With the development of electromagnetic compatibility and electromagnetic weapon technology, the research of electromagnetic pulse and engineering protection is still the focus of attention.Therefore, based on the pulse power technology, the development of pulse protection source which can be used in equipment protection performance test and electromagnetic pulse simulator research is of great value.In this paper, combined with pulse power technology and high voltage technology, developed a bipolar pulse source with adjustable output voltage between OkV and 3kV,output current between 10A and 260A,load 100,the rise time <0.6?s and the pulse width 3.4ms.And the pulse power complys with a standard of MIL-STD-188-125-1 / 2.The main contents are listed as follows:In this paper,the basic principle of bipolar double exponential pulse was discussed.the influence of distributed parameters on the pulse waveform was analyzed by theoretical analysis and modeling and simulation.The distributed resistance will reduce the output pulse amplitude, the loop inductance will cause the pulse rising edge slows down,and the ground capacitance will not only affect the pulse amplitude, but also cause the waveform oscillation.According to the principle of the vacuum relay, the electromagnetic control mechanism of discharge switch is designed. Through the comparison of the switch electrode material and the size, the arc-shaped molybdenum electrode is designed to solve the problem that the electrode is welded and the capacitor can not be stored The Finally, an electromagnetic control type oiling switch suitable for high power kV pulse source is designed. It has a small contact resistance and distributed capacitance.The circuit and structure of the pulse source , which mainly includes the calculation of the parameters of the components and the selection and design of the voltage adjustable DC high voltage power supply, charging resistance, energy storage capacitor and load. The processing parts that used of PTFE and plexiglass material is to solve the leakage phenomenon, and played the effect of high-pressure insulation .The experiment made the test of pulse source , including voltage and current testing. The result showed that the average rising edge of 0.38?s, half pulse width of 3.3ms or so, the output amplitude is adjustable, consistent with the pulse source target parameters, to achieve the target requirements.The experiment developed the test of the DC filter protection performance,verified the engineering applicability of the pulse source.This paper completed the development of a 3kV high power dual exponential pulse source that meets the requirements of the target, which can be used for electromagnetic protection performance testing of electronic equipment.
