Research And Implement Of Puppet On A Given Network Management Platform

Along with the rapid development of Internet,the influence of the data in the people's life are increasingly soared.How to quickly and efficiently manage data centers with a large number of equipment,has become the biggest problem for the operation engineers.In order to solve this serious problem,a certain network management platform decided to transplant Puppet to the platform to improve the ability of automatic configuration.The introduction of the Puppet is a major innovation.It means that the platform will supply automatic configuration.By this means,the platform can not only improve the user experience but also greatly reduce the pressure of the operation engineers.This paper first compares the existing configuration of platform,illustrating the necessity of introducing Puppet to the platform.By combining with characteristics of Puppet and the platform,this paper proposed the extension scheme based on NETCONF protocol.After an analysis of the source code of Puppet,this paper expounds the working principle of Puppet.Then here comes the coding work according to the design scheme.This part mainly concerning the communication and collaboration between Agent and Master.In the last part,with the test process in the project,this paper analyses the use of some test methods and the final test results.
