As the most of traditional network configuration management standards and protocols such as SNMP, COPS-PR, CLI are not adapt to rapid development of network configuration management needs, this paper proposes the use of Ontology Web Language and Semantic Web Rule Language as a new approach to improve the semantic expressiveness of NETCONF-Based network configuration management information. Applying ontologies to management information languages can be useful for integration of information definitions specified by different management languages and SWRL can be used to define management behavior information in NETCONF-based configuration management framework.
